2011: The Year of Revolution

2011 has been one crazy year. For better or for worse there was a lot to talk about. I've been very blessed to have one of the best years of my life and 2012 seems to be even more promising. What I'm most proud of is how far I've come in my photography and cinematography/music video work. My first real professional music video was with Ron Deuce and his song "Keep On Grinding". I then finished off the year with a bang with Starting 6 and Foolish Ways with "Get Naked". But since the last video is in post still I'll end it with "The Creature" by It Starts With Alaska. In this year alone I've shot 3 flash mobs, 1 feature film, 1 short film, at least 16 music videos, loads of dance videos and thousands of photos.
All around 2011 was memorable in so many ways. From stupid Internet sensations like Rebecca Black, to revolutions starting in many countries around the world. Even here in America, something is happening. Even if you don't support the occupy movement, you have to recognize it as a big movement. Though the unity isn't there yet within the group, people are finally standing up for their rights and not letting people take over their rights and this beautiful country.
This year was also a year of great sadness. One of my idols, Steve Jobs passed away just after he announced the new iPhone. To me he was a great visionary and inspired me. In many ways, he was like my other idol, Walt Disney. Though millions of people mourned his death, I'm just glad I was able to experience him when we was alive and creating some of the best products I've ever used. I'm even writing this from my iPad.
I've learned more this year than I ever thought I would. I've discovered so many great classic films and directors I never knew about. I've worked with artists that have amazing potential to make it big one day. But I've been lucky enough to make it alive another year with all my friends and family. I couldn't have done any of my work without them and especially my team. My team really is my biggest help on and off set. If I didn't have them with me, I'm pretty sure I would go insane(especially at the last shoot).
In my last words I would like to quote the great Steve Jobs and say, "Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish."
