This last week has been busy to say the least. Video shoots in the morning and photo shoots in the afternoon. My first was of the beautiful Rozay Montana. We had a great shoot and I Rozay definitely knows what she's doing. The make up was done by the talented Shiva Zandi. More photos from my other shoots to come soon.

Within the last couple weeks I've been lucky enough to shoot with 2 awesome companies. The first was Intel and their blogging department. The view from the set was amazing. Right across from the Giants stadium on a beautiful sunny day. The shoot went by fast and the food the blogger was cooking looked so good! 

The second shoot was for an iPhone app for Neiman Marcus in SF. We shot in the store early in the morning before the place even opened. The store has some of the most expensive clothing I've ever seen. A jacket for 50k!? I could buy my dream camera with that money! The shoot overall was a blast because it took us all around the city. I'm definitely proud of both the videos and RockBridge did an excellent job on putting it all together!

Last weekend I was able to take a day off and go explore Capitola beach. I had never been there but had seen a lot of cool photos from my friends and fellow photographers. As soon as I saw the pier, I knew i was going to get a sick shot. I got this HDR shot without a tripod and just trying it multiple times. I actually got 3 cool HDR shots but I liked this one the most. More will be on the way this summer!

My post about these dudes is very simple, they are hilarious and talented. Both live in SJ, California and are great at making music. This shoot was one of the funnest photo shoots I've had and I think their personality definitely shows in the photos.

The video has finally been released after 4 months! It seems so long ago that we shot this dang thing. I'm not going to say much about the actual shooting because I already did HERE. I'm very happy with how the video came out! My editor David at Ground Up Productions did a fantastic job! The video already has 5K views is less than 2 days and it looks promising to get more in the coming weeks. Working on a lot of projects right now including the next Growing Room music video, some really sick hardcore music videos, 2 more It Starts With Alaska music videos, and more of everything. Lots of content is on the way. Thank you again to all my crew who helped out on this hectic shoot and to Nicholas La for the BTS shots!

This week has literally been awesome. There were of course some low points in it but you have to have those to appreciate the highs. Last Thursday I got learn the Sony F3 which is a very powerful camera! Friday through Sunday was definitely a highlight because it was my underwater workshop.

Friday I went in and helped build all the rigs for the weekend which included a Arri SR3 underwater housing, Canon 5D Mark ii, and two DVX housings. Actually the DVX housings were really just a splash bag and a fish tank that only floated on the top. They still worked great surprisingly! I learned a lot about how to build everything and lighting was interesting underwater. The SR3 was awesome but I didn't shoot with it much because I knew I would probably never see any of that film every again and I figured I would be shooting with a cheaper camera if I did underwater stuff anyways.

The 5D looks fantastic underwater but sadly Hydroflex didn't ship the right rings to go on the lenses for focusing. That caused major problems because you couldn't focus during a shot. Another problem was the rig was so light and filled with air, you had to blow out all your air to get to the bottom of the pool which didn't leave you with a lot of time to stay at the bottom. Luckily I was able to get most of the shots I wanted and in focus. 

Later in the week I submitted my photo of the Golden Gate Birdge I did right before the timelapse a few weeks ago. It was on a very popular tumblr blog called "Fuck Yeah Street Lights" and it got over 200 reblogs/likes! And then today I found out I was featured on another blog called "Photographers Directory". I was very happy to be accepted to this because I wasn't last time I entered. 

I'm finishing up this week of school and next week is "Spring Break". I put that in quotes because most wouldn't call it a break. As soon as I finish my last class I head home and get ready to shoot a music video that night! I'm working on 3 music videos, 2 short films, and my own school projects all within the next week. Oh and I have a few photo shoots. But as I tell my friends and family, this is my idea of a break because there is no school! Next week the "Get Naked" music video from Foolish Ways ft. Starting 6 drops and I will hopefully be posting a video from my underwater class.

After my last shoot, I've really been wanting to shoot outside and had the opportunity to work with the beautiful Audrey. She has been, by far, the easiest person to work with. She knew how to pose and took direction very well. We definitely had an adventure trucking through the hills and sliding down the mud. The camera equipement almost got muddy as well but thankfully it didn't! I already have something I want to shoot with her for next time so I'm stoked to try that!

I met Johnny when I just started high school. He went to a completely different school and through a very odd and complicated predicament, we met and became friends. He's hard working and is one of the funniest dudes you will ever meet. We had an awesome shoot just hanging out, talking, and taking some awesome photos.
